Head coach Heo “Irene” Young-cheol found the reason for the loss in the banfic.
Nongshim RedForce lost 0-2 against Live Sandbox in the first round of the League of Legends Champions Korea Summer 2023 at the LCK Arena Gran Seoul in Jongno-gu, Seoul on Tuesday. Nongshim suffered its first loss of the season, losing both sets before the 30-minute mark. 안전놀이터
In a post-match interview, head coach Heo “Young-cheol” Heo blamed the banfic for the loss. “Today, we had a miscommunication during the pack ban,” he said, “The banfic made it difficult for us to play. I think it was a bigger reason for the loss than our skill.”
When asked to elaborate on the miscommunication, Heo Young-cheol said, “The picks were organized according to priority (in the pre-preparation stage), and we missed some of them because of the variables that occurred during the ban.”
On the day, Nongshim Red Force used a ban-picking strategy in Game 1, investing most of their ban cards in the jungle. In Game 2, they also banned junglers such as Maokai and Sejuani. “The intention was to suppress the champions that the opponent’s jungler can handle well, and it was also a conclusion that came from thinking about the composition in advance,” said Heo.
He concluded the interview by saying, “We lost today’s game, but if we prepare well for the next game, we’ll be able to show a better performance. We will prepare well and show you a better performance.”
