GSW goes to Wiseman and returns to the ‘leading player’ GP2

The Golden State Warriors (hereinafter referred to as the Goals) completed a roster refresh at the trade deadline.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Goals traded James Wiseman on the morning of the 10th (Korean time) and succeeded in bringing in Gary Payton II.

Goles proceeded with the trade for Wiseman first. The trade occurred in the form of a triangle trade and involved the Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks.

Goles received five second-round picks from Atlanta after dropping Weisman to Detroit. And Detroit sent Shadik Bay to Atlanta.

Goles then concluded a trade with the Portland Treasury Blazers. Goles gave Portland five second-round picks in exchange for Peyton II.

Overall, the Goals added Peyton II, who played a key role in last year’s Finals victory, to the team roster while letting Weisman go. Goals, who had problems with the defense leading to Stephen Curry and Jordan Poole, can ease their worries with the return of Peyton II.

In addition, through this trade, Goles will be able to reduce the luxury tax by 7 million dollars (approximately 8.8 billion won) this year and 30 million dollars (approximately 37.7 billion won) next year. Therefore, Gols was able to catch two rabbits at once: a luxury tax reduction and a roster reinforcement.
