‘Elbow surgery’ Ryu Hyun-jin appeared on the first day of Toronto spring camp

Canadian media Sportsnet and Global News reported on the 14th (Korean time) that Ryu Hyun-jin appeared at the first training site of Toronto’s spring camp, which started in Dunedin, Florida, USA.

Ryu Hyun-jin underwent left elbow ligament joint surgery in June last year and was scheduled to return around July. Ryu Hyun-jin, who left for the United States in December of last year and began full-scale rehabilitation, met and greeted colleagues such as infielder Bo Bisset after a long time. Ryu Hyun-jin is expected to prepare for a comeback by increasing the distance and number of pitches by joining the team training that started in Dunedin, where the weather is good, although actual pitching is still impossible.

According to Toronto, this day’s training is a schedule for players participating in the World Baseball Classic (WBC), which is about to open next month. However, many players started preparing for the new season early. Left-handed pitcher Yusei Kikuchi and right-handed pitcher Nate Pearson pitched for the first time, and fielders such as Bisset, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., George Springer, Santiago Espinal, and Danny Jansen also started training. Toronto will perform pitching and catcher training on the 17th and training for all players on the 22nd in turn.
